2014: My Year in Reading

Last year, I managed 21 books. I also had an advantage because I was recovering for 6 weeks after surgery and had way more free time on my hands than usual. Regardless of any previous advantages, I always want to do better than the previous year, so my goal is higher, but not so high it seems unachievable. This year, my goal is 25 (and barring any major calamities or distractions, I’m well ahead of that goal; knock on wood!).

And because I like to have a second shot at feeling like I’ve accomplished something, I have a pages goal as well – 10,220. Doesn’t that number seem like such a huge feat? And giving myself a page goal makes me more inclined to pick up longer books that I love, but often avoid because…book count. Know what I mean?

So, here’s my current status:

Books: 53/25
