Review Policy

At this time, I am only considering review requests directly from publishers/publicists or titles from NetGalley or Edelweiss.

I wish that I had all the time in the world to read and review…everything!!!…alas, I do not. I’ve delayed posting a review policy for over two years because there wasn’t a need for it, but I currently have a rather large pile of books that I’ve already committed to reading and reviewing, and I’m starting to get requests I can’t accept. Hence, this shiny new review policy.

Genre preferences: I prefer fantasy, epic fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, dystopian, apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, horror, suspense, thriller, mystery, psychological suspense, historical fiction, literary fiction, some science fiction (e.g. The Martian and Ready Player One)and YA (comprised of the above genres). I also have a growing interest in steampunk.

Some of my favorite authors: Tolkien, Dean Koontz, Charlaine Harris, Ken Follett, Anne Rice, Anthony Doerr, Maggie Stiefvater, Diana Gabaldon, Patrick Rothfuss, Stephenie Meyer, Margaret Atwood, Louisa May Alcott, Bram Stoker, Charles Dickens, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Roald Dahl, J.D. Salinger, Sylvia Plath…I think you get the idea.

I would consider contemporary fiction, but that’s very hit or miss for me.

I would consider non-fiction that is related to mental illness/health or social sciences based (e.g. race, gender, feminism, culture, etc.). But I must confess, it takes me much longer to get through non-fiction than fiction.

I DO NOT review romance, westerns, and children’s books (geared towards readers below the age of 15ish).

Format: I prefer print copies when available, but I’ll gladly accept Kindle ARC’s.

Turnaround Time: I make no promises as to how fast I will read and review any particular book. I do my best to review books close to the publication date, but that isn’t always possible. Also, it is always my intention to read and review every book I accept. However, if I find I can’t get into a book or am unable to finish it (which I do very rarely), I will make an attempt to let you know.

Request Format: Please use the  Contact ME form or DM me via Twitter (see widget on the upper-right hand of the menu bar). I will not reply to requests in my comments section.
