2017 Beat the Backlist

One of my primary complaints about my reading in 2016 is that I barely touched my ever-growing TBR. There are reasons for that (ummm, galleys are great, but I went a little NetGalley crazy, leaving little time for TBR books), and I’ll have some of the same competing priorities this year, but I feel that if I have a plan in place, I’ll make more progress on my TBR.

Enter, the 2017 Beat the Backlist Reading Challenge hosted by NovelKnight. The point of this challenge is pretty straightforward: commit to reading books from your TBR, either a certain number or a list of specific titles. We know how I feel about committing to specific titles, so for me it will be a number. I’ve committed to a total of 110 books for the year, 50 galleys for another challenge, I want to leave room for new releases or flights of fancy, and last year I managed 23 from my TBR, so…I’m going for 35.

I’ll be selecting books from my offline TBR, but there is vastly shortened version of said list here. Any that aren’t on my posted short list, I’ll add to the end of the short list, lined through.

Here’s hoping I can tame my TBR a little more, or at least cross of more books than I add this year (as if!). 😀

    • Thank you for visiting! It would appear you can sign up at the host blog anytime, and the books you’ve already read for 2017 count (so long as they are published pre-2017, of course). Personally, my TBR is shameful and 35 won’t even put a dent in it, but you have to start somewhere, right? Jump on board for the challenge!
