December 2017 TBR

December 2017 TBR

Another first for me, and one that makes me quite nervous: my December TBR! Perhaps it seems a silly thing to be nervous about, but I’m a bit of a commitment-phobe when it comes to reading – if I say I’m going to do something very specific, it starts to feel like a “HAVE to” instead of a “WANT to”, and 9 times out of 10, I fall on my face. But. I worked very hard on this list, trying to be mindful of time commitments and my motivation to read these particular books at the moment. So, here goes nothing:

Wrapping Up from November
Slated for December Reviews
Starting for (early) January Reviews
Reread Because LOVE

Well, there it is. I took the plunge. Here’s hoping I’ll make it all work. What’s on your TBR for December?

  1. I’m not sure I’d dare do a post like this, though I’ve only three more books to read with December release dates. I’m hoping to get some of mine for January 2nd started soon – I’ve got ARCs for 7 books being released on that date – and some of the books that have already been published.

Happy reading – and good luck achieving your goal!

    • Yeah, I almost didn’t do it. But right now I’m on target, and I have a visual plan on the wall to keep me on track, so…maybe this month I’ll be actually be able to see a reading plan through.

Oh, I feel your pain. There are later dates in January (and February!) where I face similar quandaries. Truth be told, I really shouldn’t request anything for months earlier than May. Getting my requesting under control is definitely part of my 2018 Reading Resolutions!

Good luck on getting ahead on those January 2nd ARCs. Out of curiosity, would you post them all the same day or would you spread them out regardless?

  2. Wow, that is quite an impressive list. I did that once and only read half of what i listed and never did it again. I want to read a few Christmas stories and some cozies. Nothing heavy for this time of year. Good luck.

  3. Fantastic TBR list!😊 I am totally a reading commitment phobe myself! But my current reads that I can think of right now are Roomies, Follow the Snowflakes, The Lost King, Wicked Dance, Roll the Dice, Two Girls Down, His Redneck Girl, Divinity Bureau, and Drowning into the Deep. I don’t remember all the authors but their on my Goodreads page but now that I wrote these out I’m totally anxious and behind. Lol.

    • Well, I’m glad it isn’t just me. I’m in several FB Reading groups and it seems like everyone is all “I’m going to do this huge reading challenge this year (Pop Sugar, A-Z by author or title, 100 classics, or whatever)” and then…they actually do it. And I’m like wah???? Because I have NEVER finished a challenge outside of book count. Even when I designed the challenge myself. Apparently, even I can’t tell me what to do. 😉
