Whatcha Readin’ Wednesday – 9/6/17 (#3)

Totally missed last week few months because – no excuses. I just did. Good intentions and all that. And I’m picking it back up now because…my kids went back to school yesterday!

Since it’s been awhile, a refresher: Whatcha Readin’ Wednesday is pretty self-explanatory, a quick post to chat about what I’m currently reading. Finding time to do a full review of everything I read can be challenging, but I do want to share what I’m reading from week to week, see what you’re reading, and hear your feedback.

Since last Wednesday, I’ve finished:

The Salt Line by Holly Goodard Jones: it was definitely time for a good dystopian novel, and this book fit the bill. While it seems to have gotten mixed reviews, I really enjoyed it with no major complaints. I’d say it’s suitable for those who like their dystopian novels to feel rooted in reality (nothing fantastical like zombies, no definitive factions). Liked it so much, I ended up shoving aside other things I was reading to finish it.

Books I’m in the midst of:

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff: First, can I just say how much I love this cover? So pretty! In all seriousness, this book has been on my TBR for awhile, and I finally got motivated when I received a galley of the next in the series: Godsgrave. Almost done, and I can’t wait to jump into Godsgrave immediately after!

In the Quiet by Eliza Henry Jones: An ARC that has been sitting on my desk for longer than it should have. The key word for me here is quiet. That is what I think of when I try to describe this book. Quiet, beautifully introspective, subtle, lovely, a book with heart. A review will be coming shortly, so I don’t want to say too much here, but it is a diamond in the rough.

And that’s where I’m at this Wednesday. What are YOU reading right now?
