Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon: Hours 6 & 7 Update

Reading: The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes

Reading Time: 77 minutes

Pages Read: 76 (+ a children’s book)

After soaking in the tub with a new book – The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes – I read a quick book with my son. Now I’m back to Sense, roughly half way through, and I have very little idea what is going on.

One of my “things” when it comes to reading is a general refusal to read reviews or the cover information before picking something up. I just don’t want any hint at all as to the contents of the book (outside of genre). Perhaps I think that I’ll have a better experience, or a more genuine experience, if I open the book with next to no expectation. Sometimes this approach garners the exact result I strive for. Sometimes I end up wondering if I would have had a better sense of direction if I’d known in advance what I was getting myself into. Only time will tell which is this case with this book.

Onward and forward!
